In 1954 Picasso continues to have difficulty with
Françoise and Jacqueline both wanting his attention.  Sometimes he attended bullfights and other activities with both of them, Françoise usually in attendance with their children.

Picasso is saddened of the death of Matisse although he does not attend Matisse's funeral.  Matisse was the only contemporary artist who Picasso envied.
