We are pleased to introduce to you the
precise miniature paintings on camel bone by Indian
artist Madan Kumar.
With exacting precision, Madan captures traditional Indian scenes, often related to early dynasties, for you to own and display in your home. They are beautiful in person and even more glorious when viewed with a magnifier to see the exquisite detail. Madan paints with watercolor made from vegetable and stone extracts. The gold color is made from actual, genuine gold leaf. His brush is made of squirrel hair. Several of the paintings have the camel bone borders intricately hand-carved by the artist. Madan lives in Udaipur, the capital of the district of Mewar in the state of Rajasthan, India. Udaipur is noted for its fairs and festivals, museums and gardens, lakes, palaces, colorful markets and clothing, spicy foods, many ancient and historical sites, and the absence of bars and nightclubs. Madan is new to Saper Galleries and I know that you will enjoy these paintings as much as we do.
